Turtle Walks with Coastal Connections
Coastal Connections, Inc (CCinc) provides opportunities and experiences for you to connect with wildlife and learn how you can be a part of the conservation success story of sea turtles. Nighttime Turtle Walks are guided educational programs designed to immerse you in sea turtle conservation. Loggerhead sea turtles are the most common nesting species found along Florida's coastline and during June and July, our Turtle Walks will take you out onto the nesting beach to watch a Loggerhead make her nest and return to the ocean*. Our Turtle Team has prepared other exciting amenities to allow you to "see" as a turtle sees, conduct a mini lighting survey, and learn more about the importance of a healthy vegetated dune. Your Turtle Walk group will also get a picture of the nesting Loggerhead you watched together so you can share your memories with others. Turtle Walk events are hosted on Wednesday and Friday evenings beginning at 9 pm at Riomar Beach Club. Guests ages 8 and up are welcome to reserve their seats beginning May 1st. In compliance with our Florida marine turtle permit, Turtle Walk events have a limited capacity, so making reservations is crucial. Thanks to our generous donors, CCinc's Turtle Walks are free, but a refundable reservation deposit of $20/person is required to save your seat. Upon check-in of the Turtle Walk, you can request a reimbursement of your deposit.
About Coastal Connections
Coastal Connections, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 2017, with a mission of protecting coastal habitats for sea turtle survival. It is our goal to involve all people in the ongoing conservation success story of sea turtles and thus we have designed a mutli-initiative approach to meet our mission and greater vision. CCinc leads three initaitves that connect people with sea turtles through educational and immersive experiences, protect habitat through grassroots community sustainability efforts, and incentivise the tourism industry to prioritize eco-minded travel. We are proud to be Vero Beach's only nonprofit organization dedicated to the recovery of sea turtles through conservation, education, and research.

*Mother nature plays a significant role in the Turtle Walk schedule. Viewing a nesting loggerhead is not guaranteed and will be done only if one can be viewed following FWC permit guidelines.

CCinc welcomes guests ages 8 and older to learn more about sea turtle conservation and watch a Loggerhead nest after dark in Vero Beach. In compliance with our Marine Turtle Permit, Turtle Walk events have a limited capacity. Due to the limited capacity, we require a $20 reservation deposit per person to reserve each seat. CCinc is dedicated to offering programs at no cost, meaning this reservation deposit can be returned to you if you check-in for your Turtle Walk. If you do not check-in for your reserved spot, your reservation fee will be considered a donation to CCinc and will be used to support our mission of helping sea turtles survive.
