What to Expect?
During our quarterly sorting days, we separate monofilament fishing line from braided line, hooks, lures, and weights so that the monofilament can be sent to Berkley Conservation Institute to be melted down and used to make tackle boxes, aquarium toys, fish habitats, and spools for line.
By recycling this line, we are effectively removing it from our environment and limiting the chances of it harming our local wildlife, including sea turtles, birds, manatees, and many other species.
Newly revitalized Fishing Line Recycling Tube located at Sebastian Main Street Boat Ramp.
